Victory Box Lacrosse

“Box lacrosse gives young people many more opportunities to excel in our (field) game. I would have every player under the age of twelve play box lacrosse exclusively or at least a majority of the time.”

-Bill Tierney: 2015 NCAA D-I Champion Denver University Head Coach, Princeton University 6 Time National Champion

What is Box Lacrosse?

Box lacrosse, also known as indoor lacrosse, is played on a standard-sized NHL rink with the ice removed.

♦ Two teams of 5 players and a goalie, similar to hockey, compete against one another
♦ The nets are 4’x4’ rather than a traditional 6’x6’ and goalies use their bodies and padding like a hockey goalie to stop shots
♦ There are no out of bounds so the ball is constantly in play
♦ There is no offside rule
♦ 30 second shot clock, similar to basketball

The Plex Indoor Sports Complex in Sandhills  is home to the Victory Box Lacrosse program. The Plex “rink” has a synthetic turf field surrounded by dasher boards and sports glass and team benches.
